AERIAL VIEWS SERIES  1970-1980

My career as a serious artist started when I was inspired by an extraordinary event in history. It was the first human to walk on the face of the Moon. Images of this fantastic occurrence were transmitted for the world to capture the reality of this unbelievable event. This series is my interpretation of the moon and planets in space.

The geographical layout of the Moon in conjunction with the Earth has a full panoply of patterns and shapes. This surreal viewing of planets moving in outer space stimulated my creative emotions to depict the sensation of this phenomena. Based on aerial imagery, I imagined aerial perspective using hard edge abstract, theoretical, geometrical shapes and values of color which allowed the perception of movement in space. This has led me to create a variety of different subjects of work over the years, always searching for the unusual and the fantastic, and has persistently encouraged me to create works of art.
