My sculptural constructions are pure white dimensional forms made of styrene which are cut, shaped, folded and attached to a canvas ground. The alliance of light and shadow is unique to this work. It reveals a dramatic and compelling interaction between light and shadow as they seep through open fissures created by each geometric unit. This work denotes a spatial illusion of shadows that does not exist in reality and evokes a strange perspective for the viewer. What is real and what is not is the brain-teaser. I have provided a kind of poetry of light, shadow and shapes with a whispered beauty that is sensitive to Japanese philosophy.
